eVA Continues to Grow Supplier Integrated Opportunities Through the Ariba Cloud

Nov 25, 2013

State buyer continues to push integration with their 57,458 approved vendors through the Ariba powered eVA Marketplace. With PunchOut, suppliers increase visibility to the 800+ state run entities (thousands of Buyers).

eva_punchout_catalog_ariba.pngRecently PunchOut2Go attended the eVA 2013 Forum in Hampton, Virginia, an annual expo created by the buying group of the Commonwealth of Virginia.  This year’s sold-out event was attended by over 800 state buyers that are integrated to manage their spend through Ariba, along with numerous suppliers looking to attract more business.

While the intent of this forum is to increase Buyers’ knowledge of eProcurement, we took this opportunity to get acquainted with buyers and suppliers in our region by setting up shop with the mass of suppliers at the Expo.

During the event we found that there were both suppliers and buyers looking for punchout capabilities.  In the recent past, punchout-catalogs were not recognized as a must-have. This time around we met eVA buyers who expected their suppliers to be punchout-capable and in the Ariba-integrated eVA marketplace, as well as suppliers who not only recognized the importance of being visible in the Ariba Cloud, but tracked us down to help them get started with their own punchout catalog.

For the suppliers not offering punchout-catalogs already, we reminded them of the dramatic increase in sales that can occur by simply displaying products in the buyer’s own procurement system. In fact, a recent article published by Internet Retailer citing surveys on practicing B2B companies says nearly 50% of the U.S. companies utilizing a punchout process showed an increased in the value of their orders, and more than 50% saw a decrease in customer support costs. In another study by Vanson Bourne, 49% of B2B companies anticipate financial performance improvements by relocating their customers to an online buying system (Demery 25).

PunchOut2Go is the mission critical link between a supplier’s online store and their client’s procurement system. Not only can we offer a solution for punchout-catalogs that will increase sales by making it easier for buyers to make purchases, but we can also streamline the entire process by integrating our PunchOut2Go Purchase Order and e-Invoice Handling solutions.

So why would a supplier need our help in developing their punchout-catalog? Simply put, to make them more money, save them time, and make their life a little bit simpler.
