On the Road with PunchOut2Go: Coupa Inspire 2018 Recap

The PunchOut2Go team recently traveled to sunny San Francisco to sponsor and attend the 2018 Coupa Inspire conference. The event brought over 2,000 finance and procurement professionals together at The Fairmont Hotel for three days of information-packed sessions focused around business spend management.

PunchOut2Go, a CoupaLink certified partner, continues to be a proud sponsor year after year of one of the fastest growing spend management events in the world. With renowned speakers and thousands of attendees from around the world, the sixth annual Coupa Inspire trade show reached new heights in 2018.

Day one was kicked off by Coupa’s CEO Rob Bernshteyn. He emphasized the importance of visibility of spend, and that only 39% of CFOs have complete insight when it comes to the topic within their organization. He stated that more than 60% plan to invest in the technology needed to learn more, which he called “the opportunity of a lifetime”. Coupa created a platform to help scale visibility into spend, as well as provide spend analysis, supplier management, strategic sourcing inventory, etc.

“Absolutely one of our favorite conferences of the year,” said PunchOut2Go CEO Brady Behrman. “The value that is driven from the entire Coupa ecosystem for driving spend and tightly integrating across the board is fluid through any conversation we have at the event. Collaboration is like no other, and we are incredibly proud and honored to be regarded by Coupa as their integration partner for various integration solutions.”

Between networking, learning, and best practice sharing, we also heard from former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and New York Times best-selling author Alison Levine. Both distinguished speakers provided attendees with an inspirational discussion on overcoming obstacles and pushing past roadblocks to succeed both personally and professionally.

“We’ve seen incredible growth globally in the past several years with more buying organizations choosing Coupa for business spend management,” said Behrman. “By working and aligning with buyers, PunchOut2Go has developed solutions to help vendors solve integration challenges that stem from PunchOut to purchase orders to invoicing that today is seeing billions of dollars in transactions. We’re able to bridge the gaps between technology on all sides, while ensuring buyer compliance through PunchOut2Go's Shop2Requisition Compliance and ease of supplier integration through the PunchOut2Go Vendor Connect Hub.”

PunchOut2Go works very closely with one of Coupa’s recent success stories, VCA Animal Hospitals. The team sat front row to hear VCA’s Director of Procurement, David Karakas, share the specific steps they used to increase user adoption through Coupa’s procurement module. They achieved 97% catalog-based orders in Coupa with enabled suppliers and now deliver $1.2M in savings from one product line alone. This has resulted in an entirely new procure-to-pay (P2P) process that increases spend visibility, has increased compliance, and also provided greater efficiency and savings that can be reinvested into their organization to help improve pet care.

VCA leveraged PunchOut2Go in the process and gained a six-fold increase in the number of vendors deployed, a 50% reduction in supplier on-boarding time, and a reduction of 40,000 invoices that no longer require manual intervention. Learn more about VCA at Integrated for SuccessVCA Animal Hospitals.

PunchOut2Go encounters more and more suppliers every day who are in need of integrating PunchOut Catalog and B2B order automation functionality with Coupa technology, as well as buying organizations that are struggling with getting suppliers on-boarded into their Coupa procurement system. This is why PunchOut2Go has been working hand-in-hand with Coupa for years and has in-depth expertise with its functionality and technology, transacting over $1.7 billion dollars through the Coupa Procurement Software System across 15 different currencies.

"The Coupa Inspire event was such a great experience," said PunchOut2Go Vice President of Operations Ryan Clements. "Besides networking with so many new people and organizations, we were fortunate to also meet a lot of our existing Coupa customers in person that we already collaborate with to find even more creative and scalable ways to solve challenges during the buy-side delivery of integrations to their suppliers. Every conversation created real value, and it was truly an impressive event."
