SciQuest releases Mobile App for Buyers

eProcurement provider, SciQuest, increases spend management efficiency with latest Source-to-Settle Platform upgrades which allow users to shop from any device and what this means for suppliers.

In a press release, August 2, 2016, SciQuest announced that they will deliver mobile shopping via punch-out catalogs, providing customers with the flexibility to shop anytime, anywhere, from any place on any device. With the addition of mobile punch-out catalog purchasing, SciQuest’s mobile app offers the most complete mobile procurement experience available on the market, accommodating options to shop through hosted catalogs, contract forms and now, punch-out sites.

roche-sciquest.jpgPunchOut2Go has a long standing track record of providing seamless integrations with SciQuest and they requested our assistance to help their development teams by providing true mobile-friendly PunchOut capable e-Commerce applications to test against. Notably was our client, Roche Diagnostics, who supports PunchOut on any device with their customers around the globe. Suzanne Christopher, Supplier Relationship Manager says, “SciQuest has a great working relationship with PunchOut2Go. We have worked together on numerous integrations and they consistently go smoothly.”

Brady Behrman, CEO at PunchOut2Go was quoted saying, “Purchasing on punch-out catalogs is a ground-breaking offering for users and vendors alike. With this innovation, SciQuest has elevated mobile shopping to a fully functional option for users, helping ensure that companies receive the rates they are entitled to and that purchasing can be tracked without time delays.”

So, what does this mean? As consumers, we shop via mobile devices every day. Well, the eProcurement and B2B industry is a decade behind, but it’s not their fault. Providers such as SciQuest are faced with challenges in technology because their customers, the large buying entities and organizations just aren’t quite there yet, ready to adopt modern technology but the technology shift is happening. Mobile commerce is now 35%+ of all U.S. e-commerce, Amen!

With this new release, Suppliers should take note and get ready. In a series PunchOut2Go released, PunchOut2Go eProcurement Trends: Browsers (Part 1 of 3) What suppliers need to know about the B2B PunchOut customers, we shared in great detail what Suppliers are facing in these modern times, offering up shopping experience to the masses across the eProcurement ecosystem.

Hats off to SciQuest for this latest upgrade. We are excited to see Buyers at SciQuest, as well as Suppliers adopting this technology. It’s a win-win for both sides. Buyers have the luxury to PunchOut to their Suppliers’ eCommerce sites and the Supplier, now more than ever, can offer up the experience they feel best suited for their customers.
